A solid foundation is everything. We always strive for environments that look and feel beautiful, but the hidden elements are often equally important. As with many of our installations, the communal roof deck at Sage at National Landing required specialized support structures to realize the design vision. We fabricated frames for substantial Ipe wood benches, ensuring they would be sturdy and join seamlessly with adjacent planters.
With a complete support structure established, comfort and style were our next priorities. We coordinated the under-bench finishes with the overall design language and added refined details, including tapered edges and continuous accent lighting.
The planters posed another challenge due to their size and scope. We engineered a planter system for large caliper trees and built surrounds for barbecue grills. An ORE Block Fire Feature lends warmth for cozy gatherings and year-round use. The deck is an essential resource for residents seeking a serene, on-site escape in the midst of their lively DC-area neighborhood.
