Since 1973, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House has presented the finest in home design while raising funds for a meaningful cause. Each year, the Show House gathers top designers, contractors, and manufacturers to renovate a luxury Manhattan home. Drawing 15,000 visitors annually, the event attracts enthusiasts of innovative furnishings, art, and technology and serves as a critical fundraiser for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx. ORE is honored to have collaborated with both Hollander Design and Daniel Richards Design to bring outdoor Show House spaces to life.
Through different iterations of the Show House, we have utilized a mix of our pre-designed and custom elements. In 2024, for example, Hollander Design called on us to help create a tiered garden space from a flat, nondescript patio area. Drawing on a design we had been working on internally, we developed the space in a way that preserved large trees on the property with specialized anchoring to meet engineering requirements. We also created a distinctive, fluted retention edge with integrated stair risers and a custom oil-rubbed bronze finish to coordinate with existing design details. Other project highlights include a selection of our pre-designed planters in an oxidized patina. We arranged planters with different heights to serve as green-filled borders on a rooftop garden.
For a third Show House installation, we donated planters from our Rectangle and Cylinder planter collections to add visual interest with a mix of shapes and finishes.
